Do you know what powder paint can be used for?

Everyone knows that powder paint is usually used for metals, but today we want to tell that paint is a universal tool and can be used even on surfaces such as: glass, ceramics, MDF.

Powder paint for glass

Powder painted glass was developed in eastern countries. For example, almost all glass souvenirs like vases are painted with powder paint.

Using powder coating for glass you receive shockproof and resistant coatings. Before painting, the glass must be thoroughly cleaned of grease, dirt, oils. Usually, washing with special solutions is enough for this.

Painting is carried out by electrostatic or tribostatic spraying in a spraying chamber. Then the product is transferred to the polymerization furnace, heated to the temperature of standard powder paint modes.

Grounding glass. There are 2 ways: to inject metal fraction into the glass or heating the glass to a temperature of 90-120 ° C, for paint melting on the surface right away.

Not many people know that perfume bottles delivered from Europe are also painted with powder paint.

Powder paint for MDF

MDF powder coating becomes more and more popular, today. And it is obvious, because after painting you get a high-quality coating which is resistant to the environment, does not fade in the sun and maintains its qualities for a long time.

Powder coating easily copes with profiled, embossed and milled surfaces, sharp corners, oblique sections.

But you should pay attention to such specifics of powder coating as:

● glue which sticks together wood fibers. The glue base must be of high quality and be stable to the temperature of 100° C and higher  (otherwise MDF would not be roasted in a polymerization furnace).

● minimum moisture content. The limiting component of moisture should not exceed 7%.

Ceramic Powder Paint

One of the most popular materials for creating artistic and decorative objects of interior and exterior is fired clay – ceramics. It is used in the manufacture of: dishes, vases, pots, plant pots and other products.

Ceramics needs preparatory work, before painting with powder paint. First of all, it is dry mechanical cleaning of the surface. No other cleaning should be allowed, because the clay absorbs moisture and begins to give it away in the polymerization chamber by evaporation. This vapor subsequently affects the appearance of defects in the form of bubbles and holes.

Ceramics have a very low coefficient of conductivity. There is an option to solve this problem: heat the product to a temperature of 200 ° C, so that the powder will cladd on the product well.

Even though the ceramics withstands quite high temperatures and feels good in the polymerization furnace, try to avoid sudden temperature changes so that cracks do not appear on the product.
