Forum-exhibition of KNUBiA employers
On October 26, 2023, the All-Ukrainian forum-exhibition of employer firms in the construction, architectural and related industries “COOPERATION OF EDUCATION AND BUSINESS IN THE CONDITIONS OF MODERN CHALLENGES” was held at the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture. The event was organized by the joint efforts of the university administration, student self-government, representatives of business companies, including “Lacover” LLC, a manufacturer of paint and varnish products.
Students and guests visited the “Job Fair” expo area of leading companies, a panel discussion on improving the educational process, as well as a student panel and a co-working area with useful and interesting presentations by employers.
During the meeting with the dean of the Faculty of Construction and Technology, the participants discussed the issue of attracting applicants to the “Chemical Technologies and Engineering” department, improving students’ qualifications, and the possibility their of further employment. It has been agreed to introduce into the educational process for specialists in the paint industry preparatory programs in the direction of methods of manufacturing and using polymer compositions in powder coating, metal products and structures, and chemical preparation of their surface before coating.
“Lacover” LLC created and financed the opening of a specialized laboratory of decorative and protective powder paint materials at KNUBiA until the end of December, which will allow to improve the qualifications of students in this field.
The most important issue of the forum was the discussion of the problems of attracting applicants for admission to the “Chemical Technologies and Engineering” specialty. As a result, the following actions were approved – “Enterprises in which there is a need for qualified employees can send their requests for the necessary specialists advertising to Lacover, which will be transmitted and placed on the website of the specified KNUBA faculty.” In the future, candidates will be able to undergo educational and industrial practice at the applicant company with subsequent employment.
