Sometimes in the process of powder painting, troubles arise when the final coating has various…
What and how do they paint cars?
Only in 2019, 71 million cars were produced in the world. Of course, most produced in China. But other countries produce enough cars too.

Since the beginning of the year, 304.6 thousand cars have been brought to Ukraine. Of these, 3588 are elite class cars. Most of the cars in the country came from Germany.
And all these cars need something to be painted with. Previously, questions arose about why cars are not painted with powder paint. The fact is that as soon as this technology appeared, there were a lot of problems with it. And the paint did not meet the high requirements for coating quality. But now the powder has become much better and more resistant to negative influences.
Most manufacturers use powder paints for cars coating. Trucks, cars, and buses are powder coated. The same Bugatti La Voiture Noire supercar, the most expensive in the world, sold for € 16.7 million, is powder coated. And even Tesla has powder coated wheels. And the powder coating is actively used by Ford, Honda, Fiat, Daimler Chrysler, General Motors, Suzuki, ŠKODA, Kia, Bentley, Mercedes, etc.
Powder paint has gained such popularity among automobile manufacturers due to its unique properties. It is far superior to liquid materials in everything.

Why choose powder paint?
Powder paint allows you to get a high-quality coating with a minimum of losses and a high degree of safety. The powder is used to paint reflectors, bumpers, wheels, mirrors and plastic elements of cars.
This paint consists of color pigment, hardener, filler and additives that regulate the structure and spreading.
Smudges and stains do not form on the powder coating. If the painting technology is correctly followed, the coating is absolutely uniform.
Powder paint withstands shocks and temperature extremes from -50 to + 130ºС. It is rust resistant.
Powder coating can last up to 20 years. It is environmentally friendly.
Powder paint is also used for subsequent restoration of cars when the coating is damaged or rust appears on it. Today you can find a lot about powder coating car reviews. And for the most part they are positive. There are also negative ones, but they are mainly caused by non-compliance with the coating technology.

How cars are painted?
In order to paint the car with powder, special equipment is installed at the plants. All large plants have automatic lines installed so that the human factor is minimized. Therefore, the coating is obtained as high quality.
The fundamental difference of powder paint is that for its application it is necessary to create an electric field. Particles of paint are magnetized on a part. To do this, the spray gun, which is used for applying the paint, gives the particles a charge, the painted part also has a charge. All elements of the painting process are grounded, and the painter, too.

First, along the conveyor, a painted part, such as a disk, goes through the stage of cleaning and preparation for painting. Then it goes to the spraying chamber. There, powder is sprayed onto it. The next step is polymerization (solidification). For this, a polymerization furnace is installed in the paint line. It is in it that the final coating is formed. For this, the temperature in the furnace rises to 180-200 degrees. Polymerization time can take up to half an hour. After that, the part cools down and is mounted.
Powder painting of car is the best way to protect the car from negative influences and at the same time make it attractive. Especially, taking to account that the powder has many colors and various textures.
