Acrylic powder paints

Powder coating has many varieties for all issues. Acrylic-based systems are not as popular as epoxy or polyester systems, so a limited number of companies produce them. However, the acrylic base can serve as an excellent addition and strengthen the more popular material.

Usage

Polyester, Epoxy, Polyester-Epoxy, and Polyurethane Paints are the easiest to find and buy — they cover the most common needs and their price is quite low. Acrylic powder most often used in the automotive industry, because it forms a very smooth surface and looks nice, also enhances positive characteristics when combined with other PLCs.

A combination of polyester and acrylic bases

The acrylic painted layer is quite vulnerable to mechanical influences — it is easily damaged by impacts, scratches, and friction. But the polyester system in combination with acrylic has better strength and elasticity. Sometimes the method of double dry coating is used — a thin layer of polyester loose mass is sprayed on the metal, and acrylic is applied on top, then baked in a polymerization oven. The durability of such a polymer film is even higher than that of a mixed acrylic-polyester film.

Acrylic-epoxy powder paint

Paint materials, which are based on a combination of acrylic resins and bisphenol A, have high resistance to chemicals and ultraviolet radiation, hard and elastic at the same time. At the same time, they retain the valuable property of epoxy paint — reliable protection against rust. Construction structures and decor are covered with such paint exterior of buildings.
