Powder coating of pipes and lighting pillars

Powder paint is the most popular coating material for long, bulky products. It is especially good for painting out-of-room products. Powder coating is able to withstand heavy loads, while maintaining a normal appearance.

Powder is much better than liquid paints copes with mechanical and chemical influences, lies better on the surface, without brushes.

Powder coating of lighting pillars

Lighting pillars in the modern world have already become an element of the urban landscape. Increasingly, they pay attention not only to their direct function – lighting the area, but also to their appearance. And to make the lighting pillars look beautiful, they are painted.

Liquid paint simply cannot cope with the loads that the pillars can sustain on a daily basis. Therefore, to paint the lighting pillars powder paint is used. It uniformly and without defects rests on products, and protects them from ultraviolet and mechanical influences.

Pillars made of any metal can be painted with powder paint.

The most popular colors for pillars are shades of black: RAL 9004 (Signal Black), RAL 9005 (Deep Black), RAL 9006 (White-Aluminum) and RAL 9007 (Gray-Aluminum).

But there is always a place for creativity. For coloring of pillars absolutely any color according to the RAL-catalog is suitable.

Powder coating of pipes

Pipes are used in a wide variety of fields: for aqueduct and heating, scaffolding and towers, racks and floor hangers, and more. Therefore, very important for their coloring is the optimal combination of decorative properties and resistance to all kinds of damage.

Water pipes, for example, are always underground and prone to high humidity. And structures located outside the premises are constantly experiencing temperature fluctuations. In addition, the pipes are also damaged mechanically during operation.

Therefore, they must be well protected. And it is possible to do it with the help of powder paint.

How much does it cost to paint a profile pipe or any other, it is definitely impossible to say. The fact is that the cost of painting depends on the outer perimeter, material and degree of contamination of the product before painting.

For coloring of pipes it is possible to choose a paint of any color from many represented in the RAL-catalog.

Advantages of powder painting

Powder-painted products can serve up to 20 years. Powder paint, which has a certificate of quality, is absolutely safe and environmentally friendly.

And powder paints:

  • Withstand temperature fluctuations in the range from -60 to +150 C.
  • Protect product from corrosion.
  • Is resistant to UV and moisture.
  • Does not begin to peel over time.
  • Resistant to mechanical damage.

Plus, powder paint retains its decorative properties for a very long time.

Powder painting technology

Powder coating requires careful adherence to the technology. Step by step, let’s see how everything happens on the example of pipes. Painting of the profile pipe begins with cleaning. It is degreased, dirt and rust are removed, chromate or phosphate layer is applied. After cleaning, the pipe is dried.

The spray is then applied to the powder in a spray booth and sent to a polymerization furnace. After that, the pipe needs some cooling time and can be used.

If you follow the technology, carefully clean the product and use quality paint, you can achieve the most uniform coverage and long life of the painted product.
