Powder coating: packaging and storage of painted products
Powder paint is a great material for creating a durable coating. It is much better than a liquid tolerating negative effects. However, traces of operation and damage to the powder coating are also formed, although they are not very noticeable. In general, if the technology of applying the powder to the surface is adhered, the coating can serve up to 20 years.
And it will be very unfortunate if the painted product is damaged during transportation or storage without even starting to perform its immediate functions. Therefore, in this article we will discuss in detail the requirements for storage of materials in the warehouse and their packaging.

Defects on painted products
Powder-coated products may be damaged during packaging, transportation and storage.
The coating may dim or lighten. Stains can form on it. Or packing can be difficult to remove after transportation. These problems are due to improper packaging that does not allow air to penetrate. Because of this, during prolonged storage, condensation is released which causes these defects.
If the packaging of powder-coated products contains softeners, then the coating may become dull or discolored.
And another factor affecting the coating is cleaning. If you use products that are not suitable for cleaning powder-coated products, varnish or discoloration may occur.
In order not to encounter such problems, you need to know some rules for storage and packaging of products painted with powder paint. Failure to adhere to them can cause the coating to deteriorate very quickly.

Packing of painted products
Перед упаковкой надо дать изделию после прогрева в печи полимеризации остыть.
Before packing, the product should be allowed to cool after heating in the polymerization furnace.
As a rule, powder-painted products are packed in a stretch film. Do this manually or with a semi-automatic orbital machine. Instead of stretching, some people use spunbond (non-woven material). This allows the product to be packed quickly and securely. Additionally, they are sometimes rotated by air bubble film and adhesive tape. Good packaging is the key to maintaining product coverage, even if loaders accidentally drop them.
Do not pack painted products in dirty packaging or labeled materials.
During transport, the product may be subject to mechanical damage and weathering. Therefore, they transport products on pallets. It is important to secure them well in the car.
To prevent the products from rubbing against each other, foam or cardboard linings are put between them.
Storage of painted products
Powder-painted products should be washed with warm water with little detergent added. It should be non-aggressive and suitable for wiping the powder coating. Otherwise, the paint may be damaged. After that, it is necessary to wipe the product again with running water.

It is only possible to store colored things in a package that is breathable and does not contain any softeners.
For convenience of storage, it is possible to put cardboard or foam pads between painted products. Pallets should be installed underneath.
Temperature is not very important. Powder coatings withstand temperatures of -60 to +150 C.
